Slovakia is in the heart of Europe, positioned right between the Eastern and Western European markets. The government of the Slovak Republic has set a high priority to attract and support projects and investments which bring high added value, with a special focus on R&D and innovation which are crucial for the development of a knowledge-based economy.
This Central and Eastern European (CEE) country has generated numerous successful start-ups and companies operating in the software engineering and cybersecurity industries.
In the CEE region, there are many leading blockchain companies which have reached international success and can be of immense value to China, considering Slovakia’s extensive knowledge and experience in this notable aspect. Some of them have already made their presence known in China and have strong interest in working together with the government of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) on pilot projects in China and also worldwide.
In recent years, a handful of Chinese companies have emerged as global innovators. These companies are showing us how to make ideas commercially viable, and are also quietly disrupting numerous industries, taking leading positions in the world markets and developing new products and innovative business models. One can rest assured that China is becoming a key player in the global sphere and has undeniable potential for becoming a front runner in blockchain technology.
The past seven years have been witness to an increase of business opportunities between China and Central and Eastern European countries by 50% while investments in 16 of the member countries (now 17) have increased by 300%, with the volume of trade reaching 82.2 billion USD. With the Belt and Road Initiative and China-CEEC 16+1 Initiative, the importance of global technology transfer and innovative collaborations has been clearly emphasized.
